In this third installment of the ETC Voices Podcast, KMO and permaculture apprentice, Nilsa harvest shiitake mushrooms after two days of torrential rain. Later, Doug Lain of the Diet Soap Podcast joins the conversation to compare contrast high-energy municiple waste water treatment practices with the low-energy alternative of humanure composting.

  1. I enjoy you AND the birds. The recording starts with a Wood Thrush in the distance(one of my favorites) before the loud Carolina Wren makes himself heard. The wheezy vocalization of the Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher is there. The Chee-va Chee-va of the Tufted-tit mouse is clear and I believe there is also a Red-eyed vireo with his slow pitched sing song. There is at least one other I can't place.

I wonder what other types mushrooms were showing themselves in forest and field after the deluge. Too late to know now I guess.
